This qualification provides a trade outcome for bricklaying, blocklaying and paving work across residential, industrial and commercial construction.
It covers work involving bricklaying, blocklaying, paving and related construction activities, including new and existing construction.
Training and assessment is required to take place in a real or closely simulated workplace environment.
Twenty-eight (28) units, comprising twenty (20) core units and eight (8) elective units, are required for the award of the CPC33020 Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying. Units have been selected in accordance with the qualification packaging rules and are relevant to the qualification outcomes, local industry requirements and the AQF level.
There are no formal entry requirements. To enrol with Starford College, applicants must:
be at least 18 years of age and have completed Year 12 or equivalent
participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs
have an IELTS* score of 5.5 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
- educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or
- successful completion of an English Placement Test.
